In terms of sales volume and critical judgement, the Tata Tigor has been a success for the domestic carmaker. The unusual sportback-shaped small car, which competes with Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Ford Aspire, Hyundai Aura, Honda Amaze, and Volkswagen Ameo in its sector, not only has an attractive look, but also some luxury amenities.

The Tata Tigor, on the other hand, is about to get a new ability. The Tigor will be the first sedan in India to be available in three separate engine options: petrol, CNG, and electric, as tata Motors prepares a CNG edition of the Tigor and Tiago.

The Tata Tigor was released as a compact sedan brother to the Tata Tiago hatchback, which is another famous model from the company. It was released in both gasoline and diesel versions. Tata Motors, on the other hand, discontinued the diesel version of the vehicle in 2020. It's now available in both a petrol and an all-electric version. The addition of a CNG version of the car, powered by the same 1.2-litre Revotron engine as the petrol version, will undoubtedly improve its consumer appeal.

The 1.2-litre petrol engine in the Tata Tigor produces 85 horsepower and 113 Nm of peak torque. The new CNG model will almost certainly have a different power and torque output.

Last year's record-high fuel prices increased the consumption for CNG vehicles. One of the most popular models for private purchasers and fleet operators is the Tata Tigor. As a result, the automaker is likely to benefit from the introduction of a CNG model that is more cost-effective than the petrol version of this compact sedan.

Tata Motors has teased the CNG-powered Tago hatchback on its social media sites. This automobile, along with the Tigor CNG, is expected to join the market soon.
