Vehicle manufacturer Tata Motors' Tigor EV and Mahindra & Mahindra's eVerito electric cars have become affordable for up to Rs 80,000. The reduction in prices is due to lower GST (Goods and Services Tax) rate on electric vehicles.The Tata Tigor EV is now priced between Rs 11.58 lakh and Rs 11.92 lakh. Also previously available in just two variants, this electric car is now available in three variants (XE, XM and XT). The Mahindra eVerito is now available for fleet operators at a starting price of Rs 10.71 lakh, while for private users it is now priced between Rs 13.70 lakh and Rs 14.20 lakh. For your information, the new price of electric tigor does not include a 1% tax on cars above Rs 10 lakh and a subsidy of up to Rs 1.62 lakh on electric compact sedan cars under the Fame-2 scheme. The Tigor E with subsidy will be priced between Rs 9.96 lakh and Rs 10.30 lakh, but does not include TCS. Under the budget announcement, the GST rate on electric vehicles has been reduced from 12% to 5%, which has led to a price cut for both electric cars.Tata Tigor E is available only for public transport, government officials and other commercial use. That's why it's not an electric car right now for private buyers. Previously this car was available only in the XM and XT variants. The only difference between the two variants is that the XM does not have 14-inch alloy wheels and power-less wing mirrors, which are in the XT variant. Now available in three variants, all variants of the electric car feature safety features like dual front airbags, ABS with EBD and rear parking sensors. The Tigor Electric is powered by a 16.2kWh battery pack and 72V, 3-phase, AC induction motor. The electric motor produces 41hp of power and 105Nm of torque. The company claims that the electric car will run up to 142 kilometres on full charge. The electric car can be charged 80% in 6 hours from the standard AC wall socket, while the DC 15kW fast charger will take 90 minutes to charge.

Mahindra's electric sedan car is also available to private customers along with the fleet market, while Tata's electric tigor is not for private buyers. However, the Evarito, registered as a private vehicle, does not get subsidy under the government's Fame-2 scheme. The Mahindra Evrito is powered by a 72-volt lithium-ion battery pack. The electric motor produces 41.4hp of power and 91Nm of torque. The company claims that Mahindra Everito's top speed is 86 km per hour, while the Fleet model is 80 kilometers per hour. This electric car runs up to 110 kilometers on full charge. Fast charging can charge 80% of the electric car in 1 hour 30 minutes.
