Maharashtra: Cyclone 'Tauktae' creates panic, 6487 people evacuated

Mumbai: Cyclone Tauktae has started creating panic in five states. The weather department issues alert about this cyclone. Now, according to recent information, Cyclone Tauktae is intensifying into a very severe cyclonic storm and is moving towards the coastal areas of Gujarat. In fact, the Met department said, "The very severe cyclonic storm 'Tauktae' may intensify in the next 24 hours and it may reach the coast of Gujarat. In Gujarat, the storm has started affecting the city in Surat."

Gusty and dusty strong winds were moving last Sunday. Last Sunday, Home Minister Amit Shah held a meeting on the 'Tauktae' cyclone, which was attended by all chief minister of Maharashtra, Gujarat and administrators of Dadar Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu. At the same time, the Home Minister has emphasized that special attention has to be paid to ensure that the cyclone does not affect the people suffering from corona. In the wake of 'Tauktae' storm, 6487 people have been evacuated to safer places in Maharashtra.

In fact, about 600 patients were evacuated from jumbo centres in Mumbai. Fishermen here have been appealed not to take the boat to sea. Several steps have been taken to ensure that there is no disruption in power supply and oxygen supply to hospitals. The same local administration, police and NDRF are deployed at many places. Disaster control rooms and several departments of the ministry are working together.
