Visakhapatnam: Telugu Desam Party (TDP) national president and former Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu held a nearly 50-minute meeting with Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP chief JP Nadda in Delhi. There has been a discussion between JP Nadda.

Lok Sabha elections and Assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh are scheduled in 2024. At the same time, assembly elections are going to be held in Telangana this year. According to sources, there may be an alliance of BJP and TDP before the Telangana Assembly elections. After which BJP and TDP will contest the assembly elections not only in Andhra Pradesh, but also in Telangana in alliance. In 2014, the TDP was part of the BJP-led NDA but pulled out of the NDA in March 2018, ahead of the 2019 elections, over the issue of special category status to Andhra Pradesh. The two parties had recently returned together after the civic polls in Port Blair. Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his radio programme Mann Ki Baat last month had also remembered TDP founder NT Rama Rao on his birth anniversary.

TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu has recently claimed to return to power with a majority in the upcoming 2024 assembly elections. Soon after coming to power, he has announced the implementation of several welfare schemes for different sections. Addressing an event to mark the closing day of TDP's Mahanadu, he had named the schemes as "Bhavishyakhu Guarantee".
