T20 World Cup: India's winning chariot continues, crushed Australia by 9 wickets in 2nd practice match

Abu Dhabi: India beat Australia by 9 wickets in their second practice match of the T20 World Cup. India achieved the target of 153 runs set by Australia with 13 balls to spare. For India, opener Rohit Sharma scored a brilliant 60-run inning.

Australia won the toss and elected to bat first. However, their decision was initially proved wrong and they lost three crucial wickets for 11 runs. However, Steve Smith (57*), Marcus Stoinis (41*) and Glenn Maxwell (37) then managed Australia's innings to take the team's score to 152 runs. Seven bowlers bowled for India, with Ashwin taking the most two wickets.

Chasing a target of 153 runs, Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul's opening pair gave India a strong and fast start. The duo put on a 68-run partnership for the first wicket. However, Rahul returned to the pavilion after scoring 39 runs. Rohit Sharma retired for 60, while Suryakumar Yadav (38*) and Hardik Pandya (14*) remained unbeaten to clinch the match.
