Abu Dhabi: In the ICC T20 World Cup, Team India defeated England by seven wickets in the first practice match. In the match played at the ICCA Stadium in Dubai, Indian captain Virat Kohli won the toss and called England to bat first. England started fast, but wickets kept falling at short intervals. However, in the middle order, Jonny Bairstow (49), Liam Livingston (30) and Moeen Ali (43*) batted stormily and took the team to a score of 188 and set a big target for India.

For India, pacer Mohammed Shami took the highest number of three wickets while Jasprit Bumrah was extremely economical. Chasing the target, Team India got off to a flying start with the opening pair of Ishan Kishan and KL Rahul. The duo put on 82 runs for the first wicket. Rahul hit 51 off just 24 balls, though he fell to Wood on the very next ball after completing his fifty.

Ishan Kishan then opened his hands and he too completed his fifty with a smoky batting. Ishan remained unbeaten on 70 off 46 balls and retired. Both Virat and Suryakumar Yadav could not do much and got out cheaply. However, Rishabh Pant (29*) and Hardik Pandya (12*) then achieved the target with six balls to spare.
