New Delhi: Telecom gear maker Tejas Networks has said that it has entered into an agreement with Bharat Electronics. As per the agreement, Tejas Networks Company will offer optical transmission and data switching products for turnkey projects in India and abroad. Tejas Networks told the Bombay Stock Exchange that a contract has been signed for mutual agreement between the two companies.

He said that under the 'Make-in-India' program in the contract, there will be an initiative to take advantage of the emerging opportunities in the fields of defense telecommunications, strategic communication, smart city, domestic security, metro and state network projects. Accordingly, Tejas will be assisted in the field of optical transmission, accessibility and data switching products, taking advantage of emerging opportunities in the domestic and export markets jointly.

The company has said that it has received a purchase order of 60 crores from Bharat Electronics, a company providing defense solutions. According to this order, the company will supply optical and data networking equipment and provide services for different projects of Bharat Electronics. This includes Kerala Fiber Optic Network, Defense Communications Networks, and Smart City Projects.
