A woman aging old did such a surprising thing and made India proud. Here is a journey of aquatic feat which will leave you all stunned. In an age-defying adventure, this woman aging 47-year-old from Telangana has swum across the Palk Strait. The name of the lady is identified as Shyamala Goli. 

Shyamala Goli, a 47-year-old woman swam Palk Strait which lies between the Indian state of Tamil Nadu and Sri Lanka’s Jaffna. Until now, only Bula Chowdhury had crossed the 40-kilometer long distance in almost 14 hours. But this woman has done in a record time of 13 hours and 47 minutes, becoming the second Indian woman to do so. On March 19, she started her record-breaking journey at 4:15 am and reached the Indian soil at 5:30 pm. Describing her experience she said that she wore a “shark shield” as protection against marine predators and had also applied grease on her body, as reported by Deccan Chronicle.

Recently talking to Deccan Chronicle, Shyamala, who runs a playschool in Hyderabad, took up swimming just three years ago revealed about herself. She said she practices for almost eight hours every day. However, she estimated that striking a balance between work and swimming poses a real challenge. Meanwhile, thousands of people have congratulated her talking it Twitter to praise the athlete.
