Telangana: PM announces Rs 2 lakh ex-gratia after traffic disaster leaves 8 dead and 20 injured. In a deadly fatal road accident on Sunday evening, at least eight persons were killed and 20 others were injured. In Telangana's Kamareddy district, a minivan transporting passengers collided with a truck. At Nizam Sagar zone's Hassanpalli gate, a Tata Ace carrying passengers collided with a truck, killing eight persons and injuring 20 others who were sent to various hospitals.

Following the accident, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his condolences for the deaths of nine persons in a traffic accident in Telangana's Kamareddy district on Monday and announced an ex-gratia payment of Rs 2 lakh to each of the deceased's relatives. PM Modi also declared that individuals injured in the tragedy will receive Rs 50,000 in compensation.

In a tweet, the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) wrote, "Distressed by the loss of life in the Kamareddy district of Telangana owing to an accident. Condolences to the relatives of the deceased, and prayers for the injured. The deceased's next of kin will each receive Rs 2 lakh from the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund (PMNRF). the injured will receive Rs 50,000.", PM Modi said.
