Telangana: Water Power Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat has written to the Telangana Chief Minister. The Minister sought a comprehensive project report (DPR) from the state Chief Minister about all the projects built between the Krishna and Godavari rivers.

Shekhawat said that if states submit DPR and other details, they can negotiate the water dispute between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. In fact, the Telangana and Andhra Pradesh governments have complained against each other for the Krishna and Godavari projects.

Gajendra Singh responded to complaints made by the governments of both the states. He said that the decision taken at the Supreme Council meeting on October 6 last year, attended by the two Telugu states CMs, was decided to implement.

The Hydro Power Minister said that new projects in Telangana need permission. He said that 7 projects on Godavari in Telangana and 15 projects on Krishna are needed.
