Hyderabad: Telangana CM and Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) national president Chandrashekhar Rao said on Saturday that the state assembly could pass a resolution against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), as some other states have recently done. Rao has said that he has already spoken to the Chief Ministers of several states in this regard.
Giving information to the press, he said that he can also organize a conference of regional parties and chief ministers to oppose CAA, as it is an issue related to the future of the country. This is not true for India, where 130 crore people live. Rao said that the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) is secular in its policy and nature and has opposed the citizenship law.
Significantly, last month TRS voted against the Citizenship Amendment Act in Parliament. Apart from Kerala and Punjab, the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly has passed a resolution against the CAA. The Rajasthan Legislative Assembly on Saturday passed a resolution against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), the National Population Register (NPR) and the National Civil Register (NRC). Let us tell you that CAA and NRC are opposing in many parts of the country.
