Hyderabad: Biogas company Solica Energy has announced the launch of its first composite biogas (CBG) project at Udital village near Balanagar in Telangana.
Poultry is a mixed biogas (CBG) project with a capacity of 2.4-tons per day. It is located next to a large commercial poultry farm with over 4.5 lakh birds, where raw materials are collected from the poultry shed to produce biogas.
Solica was produced by the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MOPNG) under the Sustainable Alternative Towards Affordable Transport (SATO) scheme. The CBG produced under this project will be supplied to the IOCL outlet at Atapur, Hyderabad. Commercial sales at this outlet are set to begin next month. In addition to CBG, the plant produces 15 tonnes of good quality organic manure per day.
"Solica has developed a unique ammonia reduction process that results in continuous use of water by converting the biogas plant into a zero liquid discharge," said Suresh Chittoori, IEC CMD at Srinivas Farms Group. The special process removes and reduces all impurities such as feathers, stones, sand, as well as excess ammonia nitrogen with the help of organic culture. "
Solika is currently in the process of setting up a second CBG project in Telangana. The project is expected to have a CBG production capacity of 3 tonnes per day.
