Hyderabad: Neeti Aayog Vice Chairman Rajiv Kumar and CEO Amitabh Kant have released the index. It has been developed on the lines of the Global Innovation Index. Telangana is fourth in this index. At the same time, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and Kerala are also among the top five states. and Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh and Bihar are in the lower ranks.
The India Innovation Index 2020 has states and Union Territories based on their efforts to promote innovations and their relative performance. The purpose of this index is to know the strengths and weaknesses of the states in the field of innovation and to motivate them to strengthen in this direction. In this index, states and Union Territories are divided into 17 major states, 10 northeastern and hilly states and nine urban states and Union Territories.
Let us know that India has climbed 4places in the Global Innovation Index (GII) released in September last year and reached 48th place in 2020. India ranked 52nd last year. Additionally, the annual rankings include Switzerland, Sweden, USA, UK and Netherlands.
