Hyderabad: Telangana Agriculture Minister Niranjan Reddy chaired a review of palm cultivation. The Minister said that farmers need to be educated at the village level with the help of palm manufacturing companies. Telangana state should be at the forefront of palm cultivation in other states. The state has the best land to take the palm crop.
In the next four years, we aim to cultivate 8.14 lakh acres of land. So far, 4 lakh 61 thousand 300 acres of land have been available to 8 companies making Palm Isles in 15 districts of the state. According to the agreement with the Garden Department, palm oil companies should meet the targets set. Farmers should be educated and companies should insist on soil testing, irrigation water and other facilities for agriculture.
Niranjan Reddy said telangana ilfed companies should provide plants to farmers in collaboration with the horticulture department and IIOPR. Farmers are aware of palm cultivation that gives more production of isle. The work of raising yield soil is to educate farmers about plantation, conservation, garden ing, garden management, harvesting etc. for palm cultivation.
During the review, the Minister said that the farmers who cultivate the palm should be identified and trained. Take the cooperation of experienced farmers during training. Inform the farmers about the income generated by the crop yield. The review included Agriculture Secretary Jarnadan Reddy, Nirmal, Managing Director of Ilefed, Venkata Ram Reddy, Horticulture Director, Ramakrishna Reddy, IleFed Chairman, NABARD and SLBC representatives.
