Hyderabad: Telangana Governor Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan became a 'doctor' for the ailing co-passenger on board the aircraft. When IndiGo's New Delhi-Hyderabad flight remained in the middle on Saturday, panic calls were received from the air hostess. When the air hostess asked if there was a doctor on the flight, the Governor of Telangana played the role of a doctor to take care of a co-passenger who was sick on the flight.

Dr Sundararajan tweeted that seeing a passenger sweaty, she ran back. He was complaining of indigestion. The governor wrote, "Lay down him flat. He has also been examined with first aid and supportive medicines and assurances. Then there was as much a smile on his face as the other co-passengers. On reaching Hyderabad, the passenger was taken to the airport medical booth in a wheelchair. Sundararajan complimented the IndiGo air hostesses and staff for being on timely alert and facilitating. She has also given some suggestions for the airline.

The Governor has said that the first aid kit should be kept in a ready-to-use condition and the material is also going to be verified daily. She said that it was 4 a.m. in the middle of the wind and she is awake to take a call. Your call may go unnoticed during sleep hours. She advised the airline that she was providing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skill training to its crew members to assist the sick on the flight. She further said "I also advise citizens to undergo formal CPR training to save others in case of an emergency.'' Tamilisai Soundararajan started his career as a medical practitioner after completing his M.B.B.S., P.G. in Gynaecology. She was a practising physician before entering politics.
