Hyderabad: Telangana Congress unit president A Revanth Reddy has been arrested by hyderabad police. This has been confirmed by Revanth Reddy's office. Revanth Reddy's office said he was supposed to go to Delhi for the Parliament session, but police were deployed outside his house at 3 am and are being prevented from going out anywhere, he has been arrested by hyderabad police.

Police say A Revanth Reddy was planning to go to CocaPeta, so he has taken this step as a precaution to maintain law and order. Telangana All India Youth Congress National General Secretary Anil Kumar Yadav was also house arrested by hyderabad police on Monday. The Congress party has accused Telangana CM Chandrashekhar Rao of arbitrariness over the house arrest of Revanth Reddy. Congress leaders say Chandrashekhar Rao is misusing the police.

In Telangana, Revanth Reddy has been appointed as the chairman of the State Congress Committee, ignoring veteran leaders like Damodar Rajanarasimha, D Sridhar Babu, Bhatti Vikramarka. It is alleged that Revanth, an MP from Malkajgiri, has given Rs 50 crore to Telangana in-charge and Tamil Nadu MP Manikam Tagore to get the post.
