HYDERABAD: As many as 250 units of the Young Men’s Christian Association (YMCA) in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, comprising about 10 lakh members, have welcomed  K Chandrashekhar Rao's (KCR) intention to found a new national party, saying that the Chief Minister is doing this for the "progress of minorities."

The Association, which has over 10 million members and over 250 units throughout both Telugu states, unanimously adopted the resolution.

"We support CM KCR, who is defending the rights of minorities, and we welcome his entry into national politics for the advancement of minorities. YMCA members gave MLC Rajeshwar Rao the unanimous resolution supporting CM KCR's national party "claimed the organisation in a statement. A political controversy started earlier on Tuesday as a TRS leader was spotted giving out chicken and liquor bottles to residents in Warangal, a day before KCR would announce the creation of a new national party.

Assaulting K Chandrashekar Rao, Congress politician Madhu Yashki dubbed the Chief Minister a "brand ambassador of liquor" on Tuesday after TRS leader Rajanala Srihari was photographed giving out liquor bottles and chicken to people. KCR is allegedly "renowned for his drinking habits," he said. 200 chickens and liquor bottles were given to workers by Srihari. In the video, KCR and minister KTR's cutouts could be seen.

Yashki alleged that KCR is attempting to get the people and young of the state addicted to alcohol and narcotics. KCR is a brand representative for booze. He participates in the liquor scam in addition to drinking alcohol. This proves that the leader of the TRS party has a reputation for drinking. His love of alcohol and the way he is marketing the sale of alcohol in Telangana. He is distributing alcohol rather than offering jobs" he said.

Yashki issued a warning to the populace, claiming that the Telangana Chief Minister had "looted and robbed" the state's residents.

"The citizens of India should be aware that the chief minister of Telangana is inebriated. He robbed and defrauded the Telangana people. Imagine if this individual is a national figure. They are attempting to instill a drug and alcohol addiction in Telangana's youth. To appease their boss, the TRS employees are acting in this manner "He said.

The source said earlier that, it is quite likely that CM KCR will reveal the name of his national party on Dussehra. A TRS meeting will take place here on Dussehra, October 5, according to a formal announcement from KCR's office on Monday.
