Guntur: In Amaravathi, following Prime Minister Narendra Modi's announcement on Friday that the late former Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao will be posthumously conferred with the Bharat Ratna, Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president N Chandrababu Naidu expressed pride on behalf of the Telugu community. In a post on his social media platform X, Naidu hailed the decision, stating, "Proud moment for all Telugus across the globe as son of the soil, former Prime Minister Sri PV Narasimha Rao Garu has been honoured with the much-deserving Bharat Ratna."

Naidu lauded Narasimha Rao's multifaceted contributions, describing him as an eminent scholar, leader, economist, writer, statesman, polyglot, and a humanist. He credited Narasimha Rao's leadership and economic reforms for steering India through challenging times, positioning the nation for global recognition. Naidu also reminisced about his interactions with Narasimha Rao, drawing inspiration from his vision for the state and the country. Former Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao, a veteran leader of the Congress party, will be posthumously conferred with Bharat Ratna, announced Prime Minister Narendra Modi on X. PM Modi highlighted Narasimha Rao's extensive service to India in various capacities, praising his distinguished scholarship and statesmanship.

PM Modi expressed delight at the recognition, emphasizing Narasimha Rao's pivotal role as Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Union Minister, and as a longstanding Member of Parliament and Legislative Assembly. He credited Narasimha Rao's visionary leadership for India's economic advancement and prosperity, asserting that his contributions have left an indelible mark on the nation's trajectory. Additionally, PM Modi announced Bharat Ratna for the late Chaudhary Charan Singh, lauding his dedication to farmers and commitment to democracy during challenging times, such as the Emergency. PM Modi hailed Charan Singh's inspirational legacy, stating that it is a testament to his enduring impact on the nation.
