According to the Meteorological Department of India (IMD), the temperature in March-April-May (MAM) will be above average. During this period, more than usual heat waves are expected in North-West, West, Central India and many parts of South India.

According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of more heatwaves in the core heat wave zone during March, April, and May. Whereas in other places, the temperature is likely to remain normal. There is about a 43 percent probability of staying above the maximum temperature in the core heat wave zone.

The weather forecasting agency has predicted 0.5 degrees Celsius in North-West, West and Central India in the forecast released for MAM season (March to May 2020). In the remaining subdivisions, the temperature is likely to remain close to normal.
