Lucknow: The Yogi government of UP has taken the first step to save Deoband, which is becoming a safe haven for Islamic terrorists, from terrorist activities. Before the 2022 assembly elections, CM Yogi Adityanath reached Deoband in Saharanpur district of western Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday and laid the foundation stone of the ATS Commando Center. It is being told that the formation of ATS and Commando Training Center in Deoband will help in curbing terrorist activities.

From here the commandos will be trained and prepared to face the enemies of the country. Let us tell you that Deoband is very important from historical and religious point of view. There is a temple of Tripura Bala Sundari Devi in ​​Deoband. The inscription on the entrance of the temple is very ancient. The historical temple of Radha Ballabh is also present in Deoband, as well as Madrasa Darul Uloom Deoband is also famous all over the world. But along with this, Darul Ulum Madrasa is also present in Deoband, which is said to be the father of the terrorist organization Taliban. Many Islamic terrorists have been arrested in the past including Deoband and the surrounding area.

In 2001, Mufti Israr was arrested from here from Saharanpur madrasa due to terrorist activities, Irfan, an accused in the 2005 Ayodhya bomb blast case, also went to Deoband. On January 10, 2009, Amir Ahmed alias Bura, an agent of Pakistani agency ISI, was arrested from here. In the year 2016, Delhi Police arrested 12 suspected youths of terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammed from Deoband. On August 6, 2017, Bangladeshi terrorist Abdulah was arrested from Deoband. Junaid Khan (Rohingya) was arrested from Deoband on May 2018, while five Bangladeshi arrested from Deoband on 4th February 2019. Apart from this, many suspected terrorists have been arrested from Deoband.
