Srinagar: A labourer was seriously injured in a terror attack in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. The police reached the spot and took the injured person to the hospital, where he is undergoing treatment. However, the condition of the labourer in the hospital is said to be stable. According to the information received from the police, a terrorist opened fire in Ugargund Newa in Pulwama, Jammu and Kashmir. The labourer youth Muniral Islam son of Abdul Karim was injured in the firing.

The youth is said to be a resident of West Bengal. After the attack, the police took immediate action and cordoned off the area. Earlier on Wednesday, two terrorists were killed by the security forces in this encounter in Sopore. Both the terrorists were members of the Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorist organization. A civilian was also injured during the encounter, who was admitted to Srinagar Hospital for treatment.

The Kashmir Police had said that the slain terrorists have been identified as Mohammad Rafi and Kesar Ashraf. Rafi is a resident of Sopore. Ashraf was a resident of Pulwama. Terrorist Rafi has been booked twice in the past under the PSA (Public Safety Act). Both the terrorists have been involved in some terrorist incidents in Jammu and Kashmir, the Kashmir Police also said. According to the ADGP, now their target in Sopore was civilians.
