LUCKNOW: In a bid to ensure speedy redressal of people’s grievances via the Jan Sunwai portal, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh has served notices on 73 officers for their failure in resolving people's grievances.

The notifications were issued based on confidential complaints that local government, the police, etc. forwarded to the chief minister's office as well as input from the Jan Sunwai Portal and the CM Helpline.

Ten department heads, five commissioners, ten district magistrates, five vice presidents of the development authority, five municipal commissioners, and ten tehsildars were among those who received notices.

In addition to these, three ADGs and IGs, five IGs and DIGs, ten commissionerates, SSP/SPs, and ten police stations have also been asked to provide an explanation.

Personnel, Ayush, technical education, agricultural marketing, infrastructure and industrial development, housing and urban planning, vocational education, Namami Gange and rural water supply, environment, forest and climate change have been identified as the worst performing departments in terms of responding to public complaints and issues.

Official government statement: "Up to 73 state personnel have received show cause letters from the chief minister asking them to respond to allegations of duty neglect. On the basis of a report for the month of July, the notices were issued. He has met with the police, administration, and other departments numerous times, always making it clear that negligence will not be accepted at any level. Public complaints must be resolved as soon as possible and to the satisfaction of all parties. The chief minister adopted an even tougher stance on the matter as complaints continued to be made against individuals and ministries after several warnings."
