New Delhi:- Since the Cybertruck was unveiled in November 2019, Tesla fans and critics alike have been eagerly awaiting delivery. Since then, the vehicle's development has seen repeated delays, unfortunate leaks, and even despicable demos, leaving some to question Tesla's ability to deliver on time.
A competitive vehicle in the growing electric pickup market. Luckily for Cybertruck fans, a tweet from Tesla's Austin factory on Saturday may have finally answered that question.
Earlier this year, Musk told attendees on a conference call that mass production of the company's electric pickup trucks won't begin until sometime in 2024, with production set to begin in the summer of 2023. A tweet posted by Tesla's official account early Saturday morning appeared to back up Musk's claims, with the Giga Austin team proudly showing the first production Cybertruck off the assembly line.

The announcement comes days after Musk posted a photo of him driving his Cybertruck around Austin, Texas. A video of the EV on the streets of Austin has also been released, allowing viewers to see the vehicle's angles and approaches in action.
Tesla's Gigafactory in Texas is almost as impressive as the vehicles the company produces. This state-of-the-art factory covers an area of 2,500 hectares and over 10 million square meters of production space and will be used for Tesla's current Model Y and upcoming Cybertruck series. When you think about it, this facility is roughly equivalent to 173 American football fields.
If Cybertruck's production goes according to plan, this space will be put to good use. The company claims to have made more than 1.5 million reservations for Cybertruck, but at just $100 per reservation, the number of buyers who actually deliver may be even lower.

Tesla's announcement is a step in the right direction, but electric car makers are still poised to catch up with their peers in the electric pickup market. Ford's all-electric pickup offering, Ford's F-150 Lightning, has been on the market since late 2021 and has been relatively well-received by both consumers and critics. Tesla also competes with other incumbents and new entrants such as Rivian, GMC, and RAM.
Tesla has yet to announce a final price for its long-awaited electric pickup truck. The truck was originally slated to go on sale for $39,900 for the single-engine version and about $70,000 for the three-engine version. With any luck, we'll have more information on truck pricing, features, and availability in the coming months. Perhaps we'll get an update on this bulletproof glass as well.
