Governments are taking initiatives towards improving the quality of education in government schools. Under the same strict rules, now the job of about 7 thousand primary and upper primary teachers has been threatened. They can be dismissed from the job at any time. The government has made it mandatory for teachers from class I to VIII to pass the TET - Teachers Eligibility Test. Teachers who did not pass these exams but are doing teacher jobs were given time to pass TET by 30 March 2019. This decision was taken by the Maharashtra government.

According to a report, the salaries of these teachers have also been discontinued from January 1, 2020. Now their job is in danger. The Maharashtra government's decision to make TET compulsory was challenged by the teachers in the Bombay High Court. Hearing this, a bench of Justice SC Dharmadhikari and Justice RI Chagla refused to interfere in the government's policy of TET mandatory.

The court said, "This is appropriate for the public interest. Such policies are made to improve the quality of education. This can only happen when qualified teachers are appointed. The personality of the child starts forming from early education. If at this time they are not given the right values, they are not given the right understanding of subjects like mathematics, social studies, language, then their interest in education can be lost."
