NEW DELHI: Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur on Monday slammed Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao for demanding proof of surgical strikes, saying the Congress and Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) should respond whether they are with the Indian army or Pakistan.

Telangana Chief Minister Rao has demanded proof of surgical strikes from the federal government. He defended Congress former president Rahul Gandhi's request for proof of surgical strikes, saying that he, too, is seeking proof. "Mr. Rahul Gandhi has every right to demand proof of surgical strikes. What had gone wrong. I'm asking right now. Come on, let the Indian government demonstrate (the proof) "Rao remarked.

After losing the Huzurabad Assembly bypolls, Thakur said that Telangana Chief Minister KCR is unhappy and apprehensive.

"His (Rao's) tone has shifted since the surgical strike in Huzurabad. He has currently lost one election, and given his current state, it is apparent that KCR and the TRS are losing ground in Telangana. Surgical strikes are being remembered throughout the Uttar Pradesh elections. Congress and TRS have a Pakistani ring to them. They try different things every election, whether it's the hijab or a surgical strike, because they can't compete on development "Thakur remarked. People are disillusioned with them, according to Thakur, and have faith in Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's developmental and welfare agenda.
