It's no surprise that Thalapathy Vijay could overtake the Khans of Hindi cinema to become the highest-paid Indian actor of all time. After all, he is the only Indian superstar to have amassed over 2 million Instagram followers within hours after joining the photo-sharing platform.
His 68th film, tentatively titled Thalapathy 68 and directed by Venkat Prabhu, is being offered an astounding amount of 200 crores, an amount that even our country's biggest stars, from the Bachchans to the Khans, have never been offered so far. It may sound like a crazy rumour, but if true, this will be quite an accomplishment.
The actor is currently winding up filming for Lokesh Kanagaraj's 'Leo,' after which he will take a break. In August, he will continue filming on Thalapathy 68. According to souce, the aforementioned production will be his final film before venturing into the arena of politics. Perhaps this should be good enough to justify why the actor is being awarded such a large fee. Surely, the film's producers would want to provide diehard Thalapathy fans with an amazing cinematic experience.
In crucial roles, 'Leo' also stars Trisha Krishnan and Sanjay Dutt. Surprisingly, Vijay and Trisha make an on-screen reunion after 14 years.
