Reliance Jio's reputation has suffered a severe setback. According to the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India's report (TRAI), 1.2 crore users have distanced themselves from Reliance Jio in the month of December. Meanwhile, 4.75 lakh new users have been added to Airtel. While the user strength of Vodafone-Idea (Vi) has registered a decline of 16.14 lakh. The user base of The Sanchar Nigam Limited of India (BSNL) has also increased by 11 lakh.

Why the number of Jio users decreased: It is being claimed that 1.29 crore users have left with Jio due to expensive recharges. However, where the number of Jio has decreased. On the other hand, the user base of Airtel and BSNL has increased. In such a situation, it is being claimed that the inactive subscribers have been removed from Jio' side, due to which the number of mobile users has also registered a decline.

Jio - 87.64 per cent

Vodafone Idea – 86.42 per cent

BSNL - 50.32 per cent

According to the TRAI report, a total of 8.54 million users have also opted for mobile number portability (MNP) option in December. Meanwhile, the highest number of MNP requests have been received from Maharashtra. After this, the state of Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh comes in this list.
