Bhopal: Congress leader Digvijaya Singh on Saturday accused the BJP government in Madhya Pradesh of commercializing the administrative system. Speaking to reporters at Jawad in Neemuch district, Digvijaya Singh said a minister in Bharatiya Janata Party-ruled Karnataka had to resign due to corruption charges, but the BJP again gave him the ticket for the assembly elections.
Digvijay Singh said, "Commercialization of administrative system is the way of functioning of Bharatiya Janata Party as it believes in 'eat a lot and feed a lot'." However, the PM (Narendra Modi) had said that 'na khaunga na khane dunga'." The same Digvijay Singh cited a recent case in which a district panchayat president was caught taking bribe from a sarpanch. He also alleged that the government was recruiting some people without conducting interviews.
When asked to react to Digvijay Singh's allegations, Madhya Pradesh Bharatiya Janata Party Secretary Rajneesh Agarwal said that Madhya Pradesh has achieved 100 per cent target in several major public welfare schemes and other states are following it. Agarwal said that it is the Bharatiya Janata Party government which decided to use the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system, but Digvijaya Singh cannot understand all this as he was the worst CM of the state.
