Economic expert Sunil Alkh has said that he is very disappointed with the budget and nobody is seeing any benefit from this budget. While in the Budget speech, Nirmala Sitharaman said that the government respects and thanks to honest taxpayers. It was reported that direct tax revenue has increased by 78 per cent in the past few years. Despite this, the budget does not offer any exemption for taxpayers.

Union Budget: Government to raise Rs 1 lakh crore

The corporate tax limit has changed. Companies with annual turnover of Rs 250 crore have expanded to 400 crore annual turnover and approved a 25 per cent corporate tax on these companies. Whereas those earning Rs 2 to 5 crore annually will have to pay 3 per cent more tax. Moreover, those with annual income above Rs 5 crore will have to pay up to 7 per cent of the tax.
