Bollywood Cinematographer from Odisha Gagarin Mishra passes away

Cinematographer of Hindi Movies Gagarin Mishra died at his residence in Mumbai last night. This is the second death in his family in the last month. Recently, Gagarin returned to his native Orissa by paying a final farewell to his younger brother Deben Mishra. After coming to Mumbai, he also lost his life due to cardiac arrest.

Gagarin started his career with the film 'Sautan', directed by Sawan Kumar in 1983, in which Rajesh Khanna, Tina Munim and Padmini Kolhapuri are in the main characters. In this movie, Gagarin played the role of assistant cameraman. Thereafter, he was constantly associated with films like Betab, Laila, Lava, Arjun, Fasale, Preeti, 'Ek Chadar Maili si' as an assistant cameraman. Gagarin has also played the role of assistant cameraman in many big movies like Pyar ki Jeet, Ramavatar, Tezaab, Insaniyat, Chandni, Chalbaaz, Narasimha, Akela, Kshatriya, Roop Ki Rani- Choro Ka Raja.

In the movie 'Trimurti', directed by Mukul Anand in the year 1995, Gagarin worked as a camera operator for the last time. Prior to this, Gagarin got the opportunity to do cinematography for the first time in 1987 in an Odia language movie 'Anyay Sahibi Nahin'. But he released his work as a cinematographer in the year 2001 with the Kashmiri language movie 'Bub' made under the direction of Jyoti Swaroop.
