Raipur: The terror of rats in a hospital in Chhatisgarh is such that they are drinking even the glucose of the patients. Not only that, they keep cutting the wires of the machines of the hospital day in and day out and also harassing the patients. The hospital administration has issued a tender to kill these rats. This is the situation of Jagdalpur Medical College in Bastar built at a cost of Rs.700 crores. About 5,000 rats have wreaked havoc in this hospital. In the past few days, they cut the wire of the CT scan machine, which affected the work for two days.

The hospital administration has kept a budget of 10 to 12 lakh rupees to kill these rats. The tender has been awarded to a private company. This company has engaged a team of 6 persons to kill the rats. About 50 rats are being killed and buried every day. In the last one month, about 1,500 rats have been killed and buried. However, even after this, the panic of rats has not diminished. A few days ago, a video of a rat drinking glucose instead of a patient surfaced. It was made by a patient.

In the video, a patient lying on a bed is being given glucose, when a rat comes down from the stand of the glucose bottle and gnaws the pipe in the patient's vein with his teeth. Then another rat comes down and starts drinking the glucose flowing from that pipe. Patients say that whether it is day or night, rats do not sleep. Many patients have even been bitten by these rats. Bastar Collector Chandan Kumar said that the problem of rats in the hospital has increased and work is being done on this.
