Gaya: The dread of the dreaded coronavirus infection is now being seen in religious places and world heritage sites. The gold dome on the summit of Mahabodhi Temple in Gaya, Bihar, which has been included by UNESCO in World Heritage, has not been cleaned. However, artisans from Thailand reached Bodh Gaya for this, but now they are being sent back.

Bhante Chalinda, the chief priest of the Mahabodhi temple in Bodh Gaya, said on Monday that "a team of Thailand employees who came to clean the gold dome has been asked to return." He said, "A team of 20 employees from Thailand had arrived in Bodh Gaya to clean the 290 kg gold dome, but the cleaning work was stopped. They are being transported back to Thailand."

Chalinda further said, "There is also a ban on the offering of Cheewar to Lord Buddha. He said that at present it is banned till 31 March".
