But the fire took away the lives of 15 people including the bride's mother, sister, grandfather, and aunt. The bride was only told that the house was on fire and her mother was injured. On hearing this, the giggle on her face disappeared completely. On Tuesday night, there was no Dwarachar or Jaimala at the wedding venue Siddhi Vinayak. The wedding rituals began straight away. Seeing all this, the bride Swati was surprised. Her eyes were repeatedly looking for her mother, brother, and others. But she quietly kept performing the wedding rituals.
The fire broke out at Ashirwad Apartment on Jodaphatak Shakti Mandir Road in Dhanbad at around 6:30 pm on Tuesday. Subodh Lal's daughter, who lives in this apartment, was married. Relatives from Hazaribagh and Bokaro had come to his house. 15 people lost their lives due to the fire. Dhanbad Deputy Commissioner Sandeep Kumar said that due to some ongoing puja in Ashirwad Apartment, a small spark caused the fire. The fire spread so much that 15 people lost their lives. He said that when the apartment caught fire, about 100 people living in the building rushed to the roof. They are all safe. But all those who tried to extinguish the fire became victims.
