Helicopter crash: Family of martyr Lance Naik Teja to get 50 lakh compensation, Andhra govt announces

Visakhapatnam: Andhra Pradesh CM Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has given an ex-gratia of Rs 50 lakh to the family of Lance B. Naik Sai Teja, who was martyred in the helicopter crash near Coonoor in Tamil Nadu on December 8. Announced to give amount. The Chief Minister's Office (CMO) has given information in this regard on Twitter.

Sai Teja was the personal safety officer of the country's first Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Bipin Rawat. He was part of para special forces. Teja joined the Indian Army in June 2013. He served in a very high area along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Arunachal Pradesh. Lance Naik Teja was also part of the anti-terrorism operations in Manipur and Nagaland. He was an expert in mixed martial arts, weaponless fighting, communication, and electronic warfare.

Meanwhile, the army has reported that the bodies of five more army personnel who were killed in a helicopter crash in Coonoor, Tamil Nadu have been identified. These include Junior Warrant Officer (JWO) Pradeep, Wing Commander P S Chauhan, JWO Rana Pratap Das, Lance Naik B Sai Teja, and Lance Naik Vivek Kumar. The bodies of the five men are being transported to their hometowns by air for the funeral with due military honours.
