The government should not neglect the strike by over 10,000 Swiggy employees: Stalin

As the pandemic continues we must not forget all those who provide us with help whenever we need. Recently, there has been an issue regarding Swiggy employees in Tamil Nadu. Recently, DMK President M K Stalin requested the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu  Edappadi K. Palaniswami to personally interfere in order to solve the labour dispute happening in Swiggy, the food delivery company, whose employees have been on a constant strike protesting against the cut in salary and incentives by the company in the era of the pandemic.

"The government should not neglect the strike by over 10,000 Swiggy employees, who deliver food at the doorsteps of customers, saving many of them from going hungry at these times of the pandemic and lockdown," Stalin was quoted saying in a statement on Thursday. He urged CM of Tamil Nadu to probe into the matter so that they get their salaries on time and without any deductions.

"The government should invite the Swiggy management, which had cut salaries and incentives in the pretext of the pandemic, and the employees for talks and resolve the dispute amicably," said Stalin. Recently, due to the corona epidemic, many leading companies are firing their employees on a massive scale leading to unemployment all over India.
