Dehradun: There was an uproar till late at night in a procession to be held in Haldwani city of Uttarakhand. The drunken groom created a lot of ruckuses. Later, the groom returned without taking the bride, threatening to kill her. Now the bride's side has demanded compensation from the police by accusing them of defamation.

The marriage of a person resident of Bithoria area was fixed with a girl from the city itself. On Friday night, a procession reached the house located at the Gas Godown with music and a DJ. The procession was welcomed by the bride's side. It is alleged that due to the ceremony of Jaimala, the drunken groom lost his temper. The groom and his friends started creating a ruckus. Even after being intoxicated with alcohol, the bride's side endured everything and completed the rituals of Jaimala, but the groom left the procession with his friends and went to drink alcohol. On returning, the groom, his brother-in-law, and friends started a ruckus over the food.

It is alleged that by saying that the food was bad, he demanded money for the party of friends. Also, put a condition to get married only after giving 5 lakh rupees and a car. On protesting, the groom threatened to kill her. Left the procession and went away. A complaint has been received from the bride's side. Taking the matter seriously, an investigation is being done. Action will be taken against the culprits.
