USA: The release of the iOS 17 operating system is one of Apple's anticipated major announcements at its upcoming WWDC 2023 event. Several "nice to have" features, according to reports, will be included in the new software. Everything you need to know about the new iPhone software, including new lock screen features and a revamped Control Centre.
The WWDC 2023 event, which is billed as Apple's "biggest and most exciting yet," has generated a lot of buzz. From June 5 to 9, it will occur. A new Mac Pro model, the highly anticipated VR/AR headset, and new versions of the iOS, iPad, and watchOS operating systems are just a few of the significant announcements that the tech giant will make.
According to Mark Gurman of Bloomberg, iOS 17 changes will make the iPhone's lock screen a smart display. When not in use, the iPhone will show a number of widgets on the lock screen, including reminders, weather updates, and calendar entries. You will find it simpler to keep track of upcoming appointments and other notifications with the help of this feature.

The lock screen for the widgets will have a dark background with bright text, just like the Amazon Echo Show smart speaker. Gurman claims that iPads will also get the new feature.
Also rumoured to be included in iOS 17 is a new Control Centre. There is no additional information regarding the "prominent changes" that it will undergo or how significantly different the new Control Centre will be from the existing one. Since the release of iOS 11 in 2017, which was the Control Center's last major update, little has been done to improve it.

App sideloading, which would let you download apps that are not part of the App Store, could also be introduced by Apple with iOS 17. The feature might initially only be available in a few nations.
A new journaling app and an enhanced health app for iPhones and iPads with new features like mood tracking are also anticipated as part of iOS 17. The new software is anticipated to implement features supporting Apple's highly anticipated mixed reality headset and the next-generation CarPlay in addition to the customary security upgrades and performance improvements.

Which devices will work with the upcoming iOS 17 update is not yet known. According to some reports, Apple may stop supporting the iPhone 8 and earlier models. Additionally, iOS 17 may not work on the iPhone X. More recent rumours, however, suggest that all devices that support iOS 16 will also get the iOS 17 upgrade.
