Thiruvananthapuram: The movie "The Kerala Story," which is scheduled for release in theatres on May 5, has stirred up a political uproar in the nation. Shashi Tharoor, a congressman from Kerala's capital Thiruvananthapuram, claims that the movie is an inaccurate depiction of the state.

Tharoor stressed that he was not requesting that the movie be banned in a tweet on Tuesday. Just because something can be abused doesn't make it any less valuable. However, Keralites have every right to declare unequivocally that this is an inaccurate portrayal of our reality.

After the film's trailer was released, Tharoor said, "The film may be "your" Kerala story, but not "our" Kerala story."

In Kerala, the CPI(M) and the Congress argue that the movie makes misleading allegations about the women getting converted, radicalised, and joining ISIS.
