New Delhi: The made-in-India Citroen C3 Aircross has been unveiled for international markets. The SUV is anticipated to arrive here in the latter half of 2023. The new car is available in five- and seven-seat configurations and is built on the same CMP modular platform as the C3 micro-SUV and all-electric eC3.
In India, the SUV market has been expanding quickly as more people choose the tough body style over hatchbacks and sedans. Almost all automakers are introducing new models in various categories of SUVs to capitalise on the current trend. With the C3 Aircross, Citroen intends to challenge the Hyundai CRETA, which has held the top spot in the mid-size segment.
The Citroen C3 Aircross has a sleek grille with the "Double Chevron" logo, sculpted clamshell bonnet, bumper-mounted headlights with split-type DRLs, flared wheel arches, and 17-inch designer alloy wheels.
The Hyundai CRETA is equipped with a powerful hood, split-type DRL LED headlights, a big chrome grille, skid plates, silvered roof rails, a shark-fin antenna, 17-inch diamond-cut wheels, and LED taillights.
The C3 Aircross measures approximately 4,300mm in length, 2,671mm in wheelbase, and 200mm in ground clearance. The CRETA measures 4,300mm in length, 2,610mm in wheelbase, and 190mm in ground clearance.

The 1.2-liter, liquid-cooled, turbo-petrol engine that powers the Citroen C3 Aircross generates a maximum output of 108.4 horsepower and a maximum torque of 190 Nm.
The cabin of the Citroen C3 Aircross is roomy and can accommodate five or seven passengers. It features a dual-tone dashboard, premium fabric upholstery, manual air conditioning with roof-mounted rear AC vents, a digital instrument cluster, and a 10.0-inch infotainment panel.

The Citroen C3 Aircross is anticipated to start at about Rs. 10 lakh in India, while the Hyundai CRETA is available for between Rs. 10.87 lakh and Rs. 19.20 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom).
Our opinion is that the CRETA, with its tough exterior, feature-rich interior, potent engine choices, and Hyundai's superior service network over Citroen, makes more sense on our soil.
