Bhopal: Another place in Madhya Pradesh has been renamed. On Thursday afternoon, a notification has been issued in the Gazette by the Shivraj government. It has been told in this notification that the name of Islamnagar village of Bhopal district has been changed to Jagdishpur with immediate effect. There was a demand for a long time to change the name of this place. Names of many places are being changed continuously in the state.

Earlier, Habibganj railway station in Bhopal was named Rani Kamlapati railway station. Hoshangabad has been renamed Narmadapuram. In this episode, Islamnagar has now been named 'Jagdishpur'. Actually, the capital Bhopal was once the princely state of the Nawabs. At that time its capital was Islamnagar situated in Phanda tehsil. According to historians, the old name of this place was Jagdishpur and in 1751 AD Mohammad Khan changed it to Islamnagar.

Let us tell you that before this, BJP MP from Bhopal Pragya Thakur had also raised objections regarding the names of some places. Sadhvi Pragya had demanded to change the names of Lal Ghati, Halali Dam, Halalpura Bus Stand, and Islam Nagar village. As per media reports, Pragya said that when I went there for the Lok Sabha election campaign, the locals demanded to change the name. A memorandum was also given to me in this regard. This work will be completed very soon. In November 2022, the renaming of two areas in Bhopal was approved. Among these, Halalpur Bus Stand was renamed as Hanuman Garhi Bus Stand. This proposal was passed in the meeting of Bhopal Municipal Council. Lalghati has been named Mahendra Narayan Das Ji Maharaj Sarveshwar Chauraha. Both these proposals were introduced by Bhopal MP Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur. Corporation President Kishan Suryavanshi supported the MP's proposal and passed both the proposals.
