The New York Post reported that Russian authorities have instructed citizens to refrain from drinking alcohol for two months after the Sputnik V vaccine was shot.

The New York Post quoted Tatiana Golikova, Russian Deputy Prime Minister, as saying, "People will have to follow the extra precaution during 42 days that it takes for the Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine to be effective." In an interview to the agency, it said, "Russians must refrain from visiting crowded places, wear face masks, use sanitizers, reduce contacts and avoid drinking alcohol or taking immunosuppressant drugs." "

Anna Posova, head of Russia's consumer safety watchdog Rospotrebnadzor, recommended avoiding alcohol. Popova stated that, "It's a strain on the body. If we want to be healthy and have a strong immune response, don't drink alcohol."
