According to a source familiar with the situation, Arijit Singh has been chosen by the producers to star in the reprise of Main Nikla Gaddi Leke. According to the source, the creators want to keep the original song, which was a lively song, but add some newness to it. As a result, Mithoon and the producers decided to bring Arijit on board for the song.
A source told, “The original version of Main Nikla… was a peppy number which become a huge hit. Even after 22 years, the song is a rage and is a regular at parties and marriage functions. When they decided to recreate the song, the idea was not to tamper with the original yet add some freshness to it. The makers along with Mithoon (music director) decided to bring in a new voice and everyone decided that Arijit Singh would be the right choice for the song.”
Another source connected to the movie was cited in the same report as confirming the news, saying, "Yes, Arijit Singh will be co-singing the song with Udit ji. Magic has been produced by Udit ji and Arijit. The original track has not undergone any significant changes because the creators didn't want to alter the essence of a timeless song that fans have cherished for so long. Additionally, as a sign of respect for Uttam ji (Uttam Singh, the song's original creator), they have created these recreations.
On August 11, 2023, Gadar 2, which was directed by Anil Sharma, will be released in theatres. Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel, and Utkarsh Sharma play the lead roles in the Anil Sharma-directed movie. Ameesha will return to the movie as Sakina, and Sunny will play Tara Singh. Gadar 2 is being produced by Zed Studios and Anil Sharma Productions.
