Seoul:  An Apple Watch-like women's health tracker has been added to Samsung's Galaxy Watch 5 series, which includes the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro and the Galaxy Watch 5. It is accessible in 32 nations, including 30 different European regions, the US, and Korea.

To provide more precise information about menstrual cycles and general health, the feature makes use of an infrared temperature sensor. India currently lacks access to the Galaxy Watch 5's new Menstrual Cycle tracker feature. The business has revealed that it has teamed up with Natural Cycles to monitor changes in skin temperature.

Details about the new Cycle Tracking feature on the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 and Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Pro were disclosed by the South Korean company. By utilising the skin-temperature sensor, these smartwatches are able to track menstruation in a more sophisticated manner.

In order to give users more in-depth knowledge of their body temperatures and menstrual cycle, the company will use an infrared temperature sensor. To ascertain ovulation information, it will analyse users' body temperatures and other important fertility indicators. According to Samsung, information will be encrypted and kept on the user's device.

The Samsung Health app provides access to the new temperature-based cycle tracking feature for the Galaxy Watch 5 series. In 32 nations, including Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Korea, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the UK, and the US, it is currently being rolled out. There is no information on when users in India will be able to use the feature.

Users can access the Cycle Tracking section in the Samsung Health app and add the necessary cycle-related information to enable the temperature-based cycle tracking feature. Once finished, they can enable the feature by switching on the Predict period with skin temp toggle in the settings. Cycle Tracking will display the temperature readings as a graph.

At its Galaxy Unpacked event in August of last year, Samsung introduced the Galaxy Watch 5 and Galaxy Watch 5 Pro. The BioActive sensor that is included with the Galaxy Watch 5 measures heart rate, SpO2, and stress levels in addition to having an ECG and blood pressure monitor. An infrared temperature sensor is one of its features. In addition, it has a light sensor, compass, gyroscope, barometer, and accelerometer.
