Hyderabad: The second meeting of the state broadband committee chaired by Chief Secretary (CS) Somesh Kumar was held at the secretariat on Wednesday. Compared to the national population of 0.42, the density of Telangana is 0.71 per 1,000 population. According to the National Broadband Mission guidelines, the target is to reach 1.7 by 2024.

CS said the government was committed to the fiberization of Base Station Towers (BTS) and would provide the necessary support for better communication coverage. BTS currently has 35 per cent fibrillation in the state and will reach the 70 per cent target set by NBM. CS assured that representation from Energy and Panchayati Raj departments would be provided to resolve the issues.
