The village is Shetphal village of Maharastra. The village is popularly known as the Land of Snakes.

Shetpal Village is located in Solapur district in Maharashtra, Shetphal Village is about 200 km from Pune. The village is the resident of the most poisonous snake cobra. However these dangerous species of snakes are treated as family members. Not only this but these snakes have the freedom to be anywhere in the house. In the village, these snakes are allowed to roam freely, just like any other resident.

These dangerous Snakes are found in almost every household. The snakes are treated with extra care and fed by the villagers. These snakes also has a particular spot in the house. You will be shocked to know that the number of snakes in the village outnumbers the human population. Children play with snakes, and no one has ever been bitten by these snakes in the village. It is best example of danger and spirituality go hand in hand. 

In the snake village every residence has a separate place set out for the cobras, almost like a temple. This specific snake habitation is known as devasthanam, and people also worshipped these snakes Small children will also be seen playing with snakes here.
