Kolkata: The Mamta Banerjee government of West Bengal has got a big blow from the Supreme Court. In fact, the Supreme Court has lifted the ban imposed on 'The Kerala Story' by the Mamta government, as well as lashed out at the government. The Supreme Court has said that, when the film can run across the country, then what is the problem in Bengal? The court said that, if there is a law and order problem in any one district, then ban the film there, those who do not want to see the film should not watch it.

Let us tell you that this film is based on the conspiracies of the terrorist organization Islamic State (ISIS) of Jihad, fraudulent conversion and terrorism. Earlier, Madras High Court had also cleared the film saying that this film is against the terrorist organization ISIS and not against Islam. But, Mamta Banerjee banned it, calling it hurtful to a community, which was removed by the Supreme Court. Let us tell you that Congress Rajya Sabha MP and lawyer Abhishek Manu Singhvi presented his side in the court on behalf of Mamta Sarkar. He said that this could have incited riots, hence the film was banned in the state.

However, the Supreme Court said that, security arrangements are the responsibility of the state government. When the film can run all over the country then what is the problem in West Bengal. If there is a law and order problem in any one district, then ban the film there, but you have banned it in the entire state. People who don't want to see don't see. Let us tell you that the state of Kerala where this film is made, it is doing a lot of business there, while there has been no news of riots or violence related to the film from other states of the country. However, some people supporting the film have received threats of sar tan se judaa. However, despite this, it is being linked to a community by politicians fearing riots, as Mamta Sarkar said in the court.
