Andhra Pradesh: Andhra Pradesh has witnessed a surge in coronavirus cases with 839 fresh cases on Monday. With the fresh cases, the total number of cases across the state rose to 20,39,529. Meanwhile, the death toll has risen to 14,078 with 8 new deaths in the last 24 hours, 1142 new patients were cured on Monday, taking the total number of recoveries to 20,11,063 and there are currently 14,388 active cases. East Godavari reported 231 new cases, followed by Nellore with 149 cases, Chittoor 101 and Anantapur district 1 reported.

Meanwhile, India reported 30,256 new cases of Covid-19, 43,938 recoveries and 295 deaths in the last 24 hours, while the country saw a total of 37,78,296 vaccinations during the same period. Meanwhile, the central government on Monday said that it has so far supplied over 79.58 crore vaccine doses to states and union territories, and over 15 lakh doses are in the pipeline.

"More than 5.43 crore vaccine doses are still available with the states/UTs," it said. India on Sunday reported a 15 per cent drop in Covid-19 cases, the lowest in the past six months, even as several states reported mass gatherings on account of Ganesh Chaturthi.
