Mumbai: Rs 155 crore has been spent on publicity in 16 months since the formation of the Mahavikas Aghadi government. This has been revealed under information received in an RTI (RTI). In fact, recently, RTI activist Anil Galgali sought information on the expenditure incurred by the Campaign after the formation of the General Development Aghadi Government of the Directorate General of Information and Public Relations. In response, it was found that ,'So far, Rs.155 crores have been spent on publicity. Out of this, Rs 5.99 crore has been spent on social media. In addition, Rs 9.6 crore has been spent on publicity every month.

These figures are from 11th December 2019 to 12th March, 2021. Let me tell you that the Directorate General of Information and Public Relations has informed RTI activist Anil Galgali about it. It is said that 20 in 2019. Rs 31 crore was spent and the highest amount was Rs 19.92 crore was spent on the campaign campaign. 104.55 crore was spent on publicity campaign of 26 departments in 2020. In 2021, till March this year, 12 departments spent Rs 29.79 crore in publicity.

Rs 1.88 crore was reportedly spent on the publicity campaign of Jal Jeevan Mission and Rs 45 lakh was spent on social media. At the same time, the Department of Women and Child Development spent Rs 20 lakh on social media at a cost of Rs 2.45 crore. Now, when it comes to the Minority Department, it spent Rs.48 lakhs out of Rs.50 lakhs on social media. While the Public Health Department spent Rs 3.15 crore. In this regard, the RTI activist says, "This figure can be even higher. Because the Directorate General of Information and Public Relations does not have complete information. Social media spending is under suspicion."
