New Delhi: The updated Sonet, a well-liked SUV from Kia Motors, is currently being prepared for international markets. In late 2023, the compact car is anticipated to debut. This is the SUV's first significant refresh, and it would have new front and rear designs. The EV9 and EV5 concepts are expected to inspire the car's design.

With over 1.5 lakh units sold in just 21 months after its introduction in 2020, Kia Motors' Sonet was one of the fastest-selling vehicles in India. More than 32% of the brand's overall sales on our soil are attributable to it.

The automaker has chosen to update the SUV, despite its rivals—the Hyundai VENUE and Maruti Suzuki Brezza—getting a significant makeover last year.

The Kia Sonet (facelift) will probably keep the current-generation model's silhouette. It will display updated front styling, including a chiselled bonnet, the 'tiger-nose' grille, LED headlights with DRLs, blacked-out pillars, ORVMs mounted on indicators, flared wheel arches with black cladding, and new designer alloy wheels. Revised LED taillamps, a roof-mounted spoiler, and a shark-fin antenna will be added to the SUV's rear end.

Inside, the updated Kia Sonet will look and feel almost exactly the same, offering a sporty yet roomy five-seater interior. Keyless entry, an engine start/stop button, connected car technology, a sunroof, automatic climate control, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a digital instrument cluster, a Bose sound system, and a 10.25-inch infotainment panel will all be included. It will also have a simple dashboard.Multiple airbags, ABS, and EBD would ensure the safety of the passengers.

The facelifted Kia Sonet may be powered by a 1.5-liter diesel engine with 99hp/240Nm and 113hp/250Nm, a 1.2-liter petrol engine with 81hp/115Nm and a 1.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine with 117hp/172Nm. A 5/6-speed manual, an automatic, an iMT, and a DCT gearbox will all be mated to the motors.

In the latter half of 2023, Kia Motors will reveal the Sonet (facelift)'s pricing information. In comparison to the current-generation model, which is priced between Rs. 7.79 lakh and Rs. 14.89 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom) in India, we anticipate the SUV to be more expensive.

We believe that the Sonet (facelift), with its updated styling, cutting-edge interior, and strong powertrains, will continue to draw buyers.
