Jammu: The weather in the state is expected to change next week. According to Meteorological Centre Srinagar, light rain and snowfall may occur in some parts of the state from November 24 to 25. This will have more impact in the hilly areas of Kashmir. The cold wave conditions continued to intensify as the mid-season remained clear. Most of the districts of the valley have witnessed a drop in night temperature. In the Jammu division also, winter has increased. The weather will be clear for the time being.

Leh and Kargil are the coldest. Leh recorded a day temperature of 7.6 degrees Celsius and a minimum night temperature of minus 4.0 degrees Celsius last night. Kargil also recorded a day temperature of 7.6 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature last night at minus 5.9 degrees Celsius. The world-famous tourist spot Gulmarg recorded a minimum temperature of minus 1.0 last night and Pahalgam minus 0.5 degrees Celsius.

The capital Srinagar recorded a minimum temperature of 2.1 degrees Celsius last night. In Jammu, the weather remained clear throughout the day with light clouds. But Veerwar has also felt colder during the day. It recorded a day temperature of 24.5 degrees Celsius and a minimum temperature of 9.1 degrees Celsius last night. The minimum temperature has been recorded at 1.6 degrees Celsius at Banihal, 5.9 in Batote, 9.5 in Katra and 3.2 degrees Celsius in Bhadrawah.
